Effective Interventions

Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (or PrEP) is a way for people who do not have HIV but who are at substantial risk of getting it to prevent HIV infection by taking a pill every day. PrEP is a powerful HIV prevention tool and can be combined with condoms and other prevention methods to provide even greater protection than when used alone.

We are developing additional content on PrEP for this website. For now, please refer to the PrEP information on CDC's webpage.

508 Compliance

Section 508 requires Federal agencies to ensure that individuals with disabilities who are members of the public or Federal employees have access to and use of electronic and information technology that is comparable to that provided to individuals without disabilities, unless an undue burden would be imposed on the agency.
