PROMISE Classroom Training

The Peers Reaching Out and Modeling Intervention Strategies (PROMISE) training has been adapted to include using PROMISE to address High Impact Prevention (HIP).

PROMISE for HIP classroom trainings are typically conducted over a two day period. Individuals must complete the PROMISE for HIP pre-course online training before attending the PROMISE for HIP classroom training. The online training can be located in the eLearning Center.

During the classroom training, you will:

  • Discuss the concept of community-level interventions.
  • Learn what "community" means in the context of Community PROMISE for HIP.
  • Learn the intervention's four core elements.
  • Learn how to conduct and report community assessment in the form of CID reports.
  • Learn to identify, interview and develop Role Model Stories.
  • Learn how to recruit and retain Peer Advocates.
  • Understand the ongoing evaluation process.
